My name is Larry D.

I am a follower of Jesus Christ. He paid the price, in full, for my sins, washed me in His blood, and filled me with His Holy Spirit.

I am also an alcoholic.

By that I mean that I am one of those lucky few who do not have the capability to drink alcohol like a normal person. When I drink, I get drunk. There's no ability to control my drinking. Either I wasn't born with that ability, or I lost it very quickly - I'm not sure which.

Although I am an alcoholic, I am not a drunkard.

By God's grace, I have not had any alcohol or illegal drugs in my body for almost ten years.

During these ten years, I've been a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Being both a member of AA and a devout Christian, I have to tell you that I've often found myself defending AA to other Christians, and Christianity to fellow alcoholics.

I've also had to struggle with some extremely hard questions put to me by both sides.

It is my hope that this site will answer some of those questions and correct some of those misunderstandings.
